What is PHOTOGRAMMETRY?

Through the recording, measuring, and interpreting of photographic images and patterns of recorded radiant electromagnetic energy and other phenomena, photogrammetry provides reliable information about physical objects and the environment. Photogrammetry relies on a fundamental principle known as triangulation. Two-dimensional photography is used to determine the three-dimensional characteristics of objects and terrain. You can perform photogrammetry as aerial photogrammetry, with the camera in the air, or as terrestrial photogrammetry, with the camera on the ground.
